PONTOON BEACH, Ill. — A police pursuit that began in Pontoon Beach, Illinois, around 2 a.m. ended at a Mobil gas station off Riverview Boulevard, north of Interstate 270 in St. Louis City.
The chase, which lasted nearly an hour, involved multiple law enforcement agencies, including the State Highway Patrol. Despite the deployment of spike strips during the pursuit, the suspect continued to drive. The chase ended shortly before 3 a.m. at the gas station.
Authorities have not yet shared why the chase started or the circumstances that led to the suspect’s hospitalization. The police have not released the suspect’s name or condition.
