ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – No injuries were reported after an old building in Black Jack was heavily damaged after an intense fire overnight Friday morning.

Fire crews received the call for the overnight fire around 2 a.m. at the Mist Bar and Grill in north St. Louis County, located on the 4900 block of Parker Road in Black Jack. When crews arrived on the scene, they found smoke and flames coming from the building.

According to Black Jack Fire Protection District’s Chief Roger Ellison, multiple crews were called to the scene of the fire due to a fire hydrant being frozen from the lingering cold weather. After the issue with the fire hydrant was resolved, crews were able to put the fire out without it spreading.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown. Bomb and Arson crews were called on to the scene for a routine investigation but nothing appeared to be suspicious.
