ST. LOUIS – Ex-leaders of St. Louis Public Schools are at the center of a new lawsuit, which is estimated to be around thousands of dollars.

The lawsuit was filed by former Sheriff Lieutenant Neil Hogan, who is calling for former Superintendent Keisha Scarlett to pay back $56,000.

The suit alleges that Scarlett spent the funds for personal expenses, including traveling. The ex-superintendent only held her position for a year before her termination.

Ex-school board president Antionette Cousins is also named in the lawsuit. She is being sued for alleged violations of the school’s travel policy.

Allegations against Cousins include overspending on hotel rooms and meals, as well as airline upgrades.
