ST. LOUIS – People in north St. Louis came together Wednesday evening to make a stand against violence following a mass shooting at a popular park over the weekend.

Show Me Peace teamed up with the St. Louis Office of Violence Prevention and others for a rally at Fairground Park following the tragedy.

St. Louis Police confirm four people were shot and one person died after gunfire erupted at a large gathering in the park late Sunday night.

Organizers and neighbors feel that kind of violence should not be considered “normal.”

It was also an opportunity for the community to mourn the tragic event while also showing that the park is a safe place to congregate.
