ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — A Florissant man has been charged with two counts of burglary after allegedly breaking into two apartments on Tuesday. Police said the man has been arrested multiple times before for home burglaries and touching the feet of the victims.

According to court documents, Anthony Scott, 22, burglarized two apartments at Sugar Pines Apartments in Florissant early Tuesday morning.

One of the victims was asleep at home in her bedroom when she woke up around 3 a.m. to find Scott in her bedroom wearing a ski mask and wearing all black while he held her wifi router.

She screamed and grabbed a nearby baseball bat when Scott fled out of her bedroom through the window. The victim had left the window cracked open with the screen in place before she went to bed.

Police arrived a few minutes after the burglary and found the screen to her window had been bent back by Scott to enter her apartment.

Shortly after, around 4 a.m., another victim at the same apartment complex was in her bedroom asleep when her dogs woke her up with frantic barking. Police said the second victim opened up her bedroom door and saw Scott still wearing all black with a ski mask and standing against the wall near her front door.

After the victim began to scream, Scott fled the apartment and she saw him running across the complex’s courtyard into another apartment.

Police investigated the second victim’s apartment to find Scott entered through the apartment’s sliding glass door.

Surveillance video obtained by police showed Scott approaching and gaining access to each of the apartments, including an additional unit with a mom, daughter, and two sons. Police obtained Scott’s fingerprints from the burglarized apartments.

Scott was arrested shortly after and told police there was no reasonable explanation his fingerprints would be in the victim’s apartment.

Police stated in a probable cause statement that Scott has been arrested multiple times before for burglarizing the homes of single females living alone. Scott allegedly entered their home unlawfully and touched their lower legs and feet.

Police said there are multiple reports of this near Scott’s former residence in Ferguson and now at his current address in Florissant.

Scott has been charged with two counts of first-degree burglary and is held on a $500,000 bond. He is scheduled for a bond reduction hearing on June 6.
