ST. LOUIS – A man faces felony charges after he allegedly assaulted three nurses at St. Louis’ Barnes-Jewish Hospital earlier this week.

The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office has charged Bobby Polk, 25, with two counts of third-degree assault and one count of fourth-degree assault in connection with the incident.

On Monday, police initially responded to a disturbance reported at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Officers were told that a man, later identified as Polk. was “crushing a patient by sitting on her” when three nurses attempted to stop it and intervene, according to court documents obtained by FOX 2.

During the confrontation, Polk reportedly struck one victim several times in the face with a closed fist and knocked her to the ground. She suffered bone bruises, a split scalp that required stitches and a concussion.

Polk then allegedly slapped and punched another victim with a closed first. She suffered from swelling on side of her head, a split lip and a concussion.

Polk is also accused of shoving and repeatedly striking a third nurse, though it was not disclosed what kind of injuries that nurse may have suffered.

A warrant was issued for Polk’s arrest on Tuesday and he was ordered to be jailed without bond upon arrest, per online Missouri court records. It’s unclear at this time whether Polk is in custody.
