ST. LOUIS – St. Louis City Police are investigating after an overnight shooting that left a man dead in south St. Louis.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD), the shooting took place around 2:15 a.m. overnight Tuesday morning on the 2800 block of Minnesota, near Magnolia Avenue, in south St. Louis’ Tower Grove East neighborhood.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found a man in the street suffering from a gunshot wound. Police said that after receiving treatment and getting transported to a nearby hospital, the man would later succumb to his injuries.

Police called homicide detectives to the scene to investigate the shooting. At this point, police have not released any information on the victim or about a possible suspect.
