Man found dead in his room in north St. Louis, police investigating as homicide

ST. LOUIS – Police are investigating a murder after a man was found dead in his room Tuesday night in north St. Louis.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD), the man was found dead around 9 p.m. on the 900 block of Elias Avenue in north St. Louis’ Baden neighborhood.

The man was found in his room at a boarding house by his roommate, officials said. The man had been dead for some time, making the investigation more difficult for officials.

“There is no chance of a witness when it’s that old or no chance of a witness at the scene when it’s that old,” SLMPD Lt. Joe Hill said. “So you have to do more hunting with tower dumps and cell phone dumps to pinpoint the time. We need to pinpoint the time of death and then that’ll help with cell phone and tower dumps.”
