ST. LOUIS – An overnight shooting left a man dead Friday morning in south St. Louis.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD), the shooting took place around 2:30 a.m. on the 6300 block of Vermont Avenue in south St. Louis’ Carondelet neighborhood.
Police have not revealed the victim’s age, but they confirmed he was a man, implying he was not an adult.
At the scene, multiple vehicles were observed with their windows busted out. Police are investigating whether the incident is linked to individuals suspected of breaking into cars in St. Louis County, who may have moved to south St. Louis to continue doing the same thing.
An investigation into the shooting and car break-ins is ongoing. Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation.
