ST. LOUIS – Police and firefighters responded to a school bus crash in south St. Louis on Thursday morning.

The crash happened at the intersection of Virginia Avenue and Eichelberger Street in the city’s Carondelet neighborhood.

A First Student School Bus was on its way to KIPP Wisdom Academy when the crash took place. Two students were aboard the bus. First responders said the children were not injured. The bus sustained some front bumper damage.

The other vehicle involved, a four-door sedan, took some damage along the fender near the driver’s side door.

A woman who identified herself as the driver’s mother said her son was taken to the hospital for observation but is expected to be okay.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
