MISSOURI – One of fall’s most popular hunting seasons begins Saturday in Missouri.
Duck and coot hunting will start 30 minutes before sunrise Saturday morning. It includes northern and middle hunting zones, which include some in the St. Louis metropolitan area.
For the Nothern zone, which runs roughly north of I-70, the season will continue all the way up until December 31.
The middle zone has staggered dates, but ultimately extends into the first week of January.
Since waterfowls like ducks aren’t native to Missouri, hunters must have all necessary Missouri licenses, in addition to obtaining a federal duck stamp. They must also adhere to U.S. Fish and Wildlife rules related to daily limits and how many ducks can be possessed at a given time.
