JOPLIN, Mo. — A new documentary about the 2011 Joplin EF-5 tornado is coming to Netflix.
On Thursday, the video streaming service posted a trailer of a new documentary on X.
The film, which you can preview here, is called, “The Twister: Caught in the Storm.” It features first hand footage from the tornado that tore through Joplin just hours after the class of 2011 received their diplomas.
The documentary is scheduled for release on March 19, 2025.
The EF-5 tornado struck Joplin at 5:41 p.m. on Sunday, May 22, 2011. It killed 158 people and injured around 1,150 others, and ranks as one of America’s deadliest tornadoes.
