ST. LOUIS – A man and a woman made their first appearance in St. Louis Circuit Court Monday afternoon for a shooting last Friday in south city.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s probable cause statement, the shooting occurred on Friday, May 2, in the 3300 block of Lawn Avenue, in the city’s North Hampton neighborhood.
Police said Olivia E. Pirtle, 20, lured the victim to that location so Trayon C. Silinzy, 24, could steal the victim’s Chrysler sedan.
When the victim arrived, Silinzy began shooting the victim’s car. The victim was wounded and the car struck by gunfire more than a dozen times.
Pirtle and Silinzy were arrested at the scene, and police said Pirtle admitted her involvement in the scheme, while Silinzy disclosed the location of the gun used in the crime.
The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office charged Silinzy with first-degree assault, discharge of a firearm – persistent offender, unlawful possession of a firearm, and two counts of armed criminal action. Silinzy was already on parole for car theft and awaiting trial for receiving stolen property. He remains jailed without bond.
Meanwhile, Pirtle was charged with first-degree assault and first-degree attempted robbery. She remains jailed without bond.
