Officer from Red Bud fatally shot while on duty in Las Vegas

RANDOLPH COUNTY, Ill. – A north Las Vegas police officer from Red Bud, Ill. was killed in the line of duty on Wednesday.

Authorities say Jason Roscow went out for a call about a person with a gun Wednesday, which led to Roscow and the suspect later shooting at one another. Both were hit multiple times.

Officials say Roscow was transported to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department sent its condolences to his family.
