ILLINOIS – One metro East homeowner was not happy with what her camera caught, which ended up being a bear at her front door.
Like a duck to water and a bear to honey, that’s exactly what she noticed outside her door: a black bear trying to get to her honey.
The Illinois Department of Natural Resources says they’re aware of the incident of black bear sightings in the area. The department urges residents to not approach or feed any bears.
Black bears that are hungry seek easier food sources, which can be bird feeders, outdoor grills, trash and dog food. If anyone comes into contact with the animal, authorities say it’s best to secure any food items that are outside of the home.
Contacting the authorities and informing them about the incident is also crucial.
