PAGEDALE, Mo. – The Pagedale Police Department will end its police services for the nearby city of Velda City on Friday, just more than a year after all officers abruptly resigned from the Velda City Police Department.
The Pagedale Police Department will officially conclude all law enforcement services with Velda City at 5 p.m. Friday.
Since March 2024, the Pagedale Police Department has helped maintain full operational security of the Velda City police facility, including the protection of all evidence, firearms, and
departmental property.
Pagedale’s involvement ends following formal votes by both the Pagedale Board of Aldermen and the Velda City Board of Aldermen to mutually terminate the contract agreement for police services.
“All officers and command staff assigned to Velda City carried out their duties with the highest level of commitment to public safety,” said Chief Anthony Huckleberry of the Pagedale Police Department. “While we are concluding our contract, our focus remains on maintaining transparency and ensuring that all assets and records are accounted for as we exit.”
The North County Police Cooperative will assume law enforcement responsibilities for Velda City upon the conclusion of Pagedale’s services. All Velda City facility keys and access credentials will be turned over to NCPC.
