ST. LOUS – Officers arrested an armed drug dealer Friday evening who was selling narcotics from the parking lot of a St. Louis gas station, according to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
SLMPD reports that a 23-year-old suspect from north St. Louis County is now behind bars.
Investigators say, around 8:30 p.m. Friday, Metro Air Support alerted officers on the ground to a vehicle that previously fled police. One suspect connected with that vehicle was believed to be conducting drug sales at a gas station parking lot.
Police responded to that gas station and attempted a traffic stop. The driver attempted to escape, but hit a curb, deflating his tires and promptly leading to his arrest shortly afterward.
While investigating, police seized a large quantity of various suspected narcotics, a loaded firearm and more than $11,000 in cash.
Police have not disclose the suspect’s identity or the specific gas station address linked to the arrest. It remains to be determined if or when criminal charges may formally be filed in this case.
