ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A police pursuit that allegedly involved a suspect firing shots at officers ends with the suspect shot and hospitalized with undisclosed injuries.

The pursuit ended on Natural Bridge Road near the southbound ramp Interstate 170 in north St. Louis County.

FOX 2 has learned that a suspect fired shots at police officers sometime before or during the pursuit. Police returned gunfire and the suspect was shot several times, sources tell FOX 2.

Police rendered aid to the suspect, who has since been sent to the hospital.

It’s unclear whether any officers were shot or hurt from shots fired or the pursuit.

It appears the pursuit ended with white car in a ditch, according to footage from Bommarito Automotive Group’s SkyFOX cameras.

The St. Louis County Police Department, along with authorities from Breckenridge Hills and St. Ann, have responded to the scene. There are several officers and cones around the scene as authorities investigate.

Ramps from I-170 to Natural Bridge Road may be closed in the area. Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes, if possible, as crews work to clear the scene.
