ST. LOUIS – Police shot a man following a pursuit that ended on Natural Bridge Avenue late Thursday morning, FOX 2 News has learned.

The shooting happened in the 5600 block of Natural Bridge near Clara Avenue, located in the Mark Twain I-70 Industrial neighborhood.

Officers with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department and members of an as yet unidentified federal agency were pursuing a vehicle tied to a robbery investigation.

As some point, the man in the suspect vehicle exited the car and was shot by police. That individual was taken to the hospital. No police officers were injured.

Police have not disclosed additional information on the robbery investigation that led to the pursuit.

The SLMPD’s Force Investigation Unit has responded to the scene.
