WILDWOOD, Mo. – Wildwood residents living near Highway 109 and Blum Farm Road experienced damage from Wednesday’s storm.
“It looks like a tornado came through,” one resident said.
The damage appeared to be concentrated in an area of less than a dozen homes. Tree limbs and power lines were down. Damage to homes appears to be minor compared to the May 16 tornado that devastated residents in parts of north St. Louis.
“It rained a little bit, and all of a sudden the wind picked up, and we went down to the basement,” Wildwood resident Larry Strassburger said.
His home did not sustain any damage. Strassburger also spends time in Florida and said the warnings for hurricanes are much different than those for tornados.
“You get a hurricane coming, you get three days’ notice to get out,” he said.
