ST. LOUIS – Based on the latest model data, Monday’s rain may not be as widespread as it looked like it would be 24 hours ago. That being said, expect a lot of clouds and occasional light rain showers building in, especially for the afternoon, but coverage is looking more scattered.
Easterly winds on the southern side of high pressure to our northeast are pumping drier air into the region but the moisture from the southwest is trying to lift this way but struggling to do so. Temperatures will be a bit milder than originally expected thanks to less rain, reaching the upper 60s and low 70s.
Spotty showers will stick with us Monday night and lows will drop to the mid- to upper 50s. Another wave of scattered showers may lift into the region on Tuesday, and a few rumbles of thunder are even possible for the afternoon. Otherwise, this system pulls away and we’ll see a break from any rain on Wednesday.
Low-end shower chances return for Thursday and Friday. A nice warming trend is still looking possible for the weekend, with temperatures returning to the 80s.
