ST. LOUIS – Light rain showers continue from Tuesday night’s activity as our system approaches. This is a cold front that will stall near the region through the end of the work week, bringing periods of rain and a few weak storms along with it.
There is a very low risk of an isolated strong storm late morning/early afternoon Wednesday, but that is conditional on if our atmosphere can recover from this morning’s rain. If we do pop a severe warning, damaging wind gusts of 60 MPH will be our concern.
While we technically already saw our daily high temperature for the day (79 F near midnight), we will still warm Wednesday afternoon into the mid-70s. Scattered showers shift in coverage southeast of the I-44 (MO) and I-70 (IL) corridor Wednesday night and become spotty at times on Thursday.
This wet weather pattern continues at least through Friday evening before a much-welcomed break commences for the weekend. Highs remain near or slightly above the 80 F seasonal norm.
