ST. LOUIS – A decaying storm complex is moving towards St. Louis, bringing rain and some storms back to the region early Monday morning. While these storms have been weakening as they move east, they could still bring some hail and spots of heavy rain this morning.
From mid-Monday morning until about 5 p.m., the weather will be mostly quiet and breezy, with a few scattered showers expected. Expect temperatures to reach a high near 80 F.
Another round of thunderstorms is expected Monday evening and into the overnight hours. This round is expected to bring severe storms to the St. Louis region, including the threats of large hail, damaging winds, and the chance of tornadoes. These storms will move east between 6 p.m. and 2 a.m.
Tuesday may bring additional storm chances late morning and into the afternoon, especially from the Mississippi River east into Illinois. It depends a lot on our overnight storms. They may scrub things out and push the firing line for storms farther east and southeast, which would give much of our region a break. But if skies clear out and the atmosphere can recharge, then another round of storms will be possible.
Expect temperatures to become cooler going into midweek.
