JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo.- A student from Seckman High School, located in Imperial, Missouri, was hit by a school bus today.
Jeff Krutzsch, the principal at the school, released a message to families and staff members in relation to the incident.
“During dismissal this afternoon, a student was struck by a school bus as the bus was leaving campus,” Krutzsch wrote. “Emergency services arrived at the scene shortly after and provided care to the student and subsequently transported the student off campus to receive medical attention.”
The family of the student has been informed, as well as relatives of those who were on the school bus. Those who were on the school bus sustained no injuries, according to officials.
“While no students aboard the bus were injured, it is possible that your student witnessed this incident and will want to discuss it with you,” Krutzsch wrote.
An investigation into the event is underway with police and the Fox C-6 transportation department.
“The well-being and safety of our students and staff is always our top priority,” Krutzsch wrote.
The principal concluded the email, saying that counselors will be available at the school for those affected by the incident.
FOX 2 has yet to learn about the student’s condition.
