ST. ANN, Mo. – A renewed effort is underway to solve the mystery surrounding Nicole Gray, who disappeared 26 years ago.

The St. Ann mother was supposed to attend her daughter’s school play on December 17, 1999 but never showed up.

Her abandoned car was found three days later in the parking lot of the old Northwest Plaza shopping mall in St. Ann. Gray told friends that she was going to go Christmas shopping before attending the play. But there were no signs of presents purchased inside her car.

Instead, police found a single spot of blood.

DNA tests at the time were inconclusive, and video from security cameras didn’t exist back then.

Nicole vanished without a trace, but her daughter, Kendra Fulton, believes she was murdered.

Fulton continues to work with police and post on social media in hopes her mother will be found.

Police haven’t found Gray’s body, and no one has been charged. However, officials believe someone knows something.

St. Ann police have asked the new St. Louis County prosecuting attorney to take a fresh look at the case. They’re hoping to retest the blood sample using today’s DNA technology.

If anyone has information, no matter how small it may seem, call the St. Ann Police Department or Crimestoppers at 866-371-TIPS (8477).
