ST. CHARLES, Mo. – Charles Police Department have reported that they’ve made an arrest in the case where a man was killed a little before 3 a.m. on Friday morning, April 25.

Police say they responded to a call in the 400 block of Lee Drive in response to a person yelling for help in the street.

When officers arrived, the person led them inside a nearby home where there was a victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

That victim, 19-year-old Bobby Jackson of St. Louis, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Within 14 hours of the shooting, St. Charles investigators identified, located, and arrested the suspect, 19-year-old Damon John Campbell (aka “DJ”) of Maryland Heights and got his confession.

The investigation revealed that the shooting stemmed from a disturbance over Marijuana.

Campbell has been charged with second degrees murder and armed criminal action. He is being held with no bond.
