ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating three homicides that occurred within just over a 24-hour period from Sunday evening to Monday night.
The violent stretch began Sunday evening around 8:15 p.m. with a shooting on the 4800 block of Kossuth Avenue in north St. Louis’ Penrose neighborhood.
At the scene, police found an unidentified man shot and lying in an alley behind Kossuth Avenue. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and no arrests have been made in connection to the shooting.
Another shooting occurred Monday morning around 10:15 a.m. on the 1300 block of Hamilton in north St. Louis’ Hamilton Heights neighborhood. Police discovered a man shot and killed at the scene. No further information about the victim or potential suspects has been released.
The most recent homicide was reported around 9:20 p.m. Monday night when police responded to a shooting call on the 8100 block of Pelham Avenue in north St. Louis’ Baden neighborhood.
Officers arrived to find a man who had sustained a gunshot wound and would later succumb to his injuries. This marked the third homicide in the city since Sunday evening.
