ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – The St. Louis County Department of Transportation announced that it will remove branches and other debris in the aftermath of the severe weather that occurred last Friday.
By doing so, St. Louis County will be releasing a Storm Debris Removal program for impacted neighborhoods in the county.
“Saint Louis County is committed to helping residents recover from the storm’s impact,” said County Executive Sam Page. “This debris removal program is one way we’re supporting our residents. We also ask that you report all storm damage to the United Way’s 211 line.”
The county is asking for residents to place storm-generated tree debris behind the curb in front of their houses. County crews will then take the tree limbs and sticks over the next two weeks.
According to the release, the county can only remove vegetative debris that is placed on the curbside, and will be unable to enter private property.
St. Louis County also requests that locals bring branches and sticks, rather than other forms of debris.
David Wrone, County DOT public information manager, further reiterated that the Storm Debris Removal program is solely limited to the removal of tree debris that came from Friday’s storm.
“… Because everything we haul away will be taken to a Saint Louis County park and ground into mulch, we can’t mingle shingles, siding or any other kind of non-vegetative matter in with the limbs and sticks,” Wrone explained.
Locals can contact the Crisis Cleanup Hotline at 844-965-1386 for further assistance.
