TULSA, Okla. – A federal judge has sentenced a St. Louis man convicted of possessing 15 pounds of cocaine in Oklahoma with the intent to distribute it.

On Tuesday, Terrall Lamar Johnson, 33, was sentenced to 10 years behind bars on a federal charge of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute. He was also ordered to complete five years of supervised release.

According to federal court documents, in July 2023, Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers pulled over Johnson on U.S. Highway 69 near Big Cabin.

After Johnson allowed troopers to search his vehicle, troopers found six individually wrapped bundles with suspected drugs. The investigation further revealed that the six bundles weighed 15.3 pounds and tested positive for cocaine.

Johnson will remain in custody pending transfer to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

Several medical studies suggest as little as 1.2 grams of cocaine could lead to a lethal overdose. The reported 15.3-pound mark equates to nearly 7,000 grams of cocaine.
