ST. LOUIS – Two St. Louis natives were awarded $10,000 during an appearance on ‘The Jennifer Hudson Show’ on Tuesday.
St. Louis natives Brad Edwards and Kyra Betts appeared on the daytime talk show on Tuesday to share about their nonprofit organization, Dads to Doulas. Edwards and Betts cofounded Dads to Doulas to empower Black fathers to advocate for their families during pregnancy and beyond.
While on the show, Edwards shared his story of a pregnancy loss he experienced with his wife and how Betts, a trained doula, helped provide support. After learning that other fathers had the same questions about birth and parenting, Edwards and Betts launched the nonprofit organization to create a training program aimed at educating Black men about pregnancy and postpartum.
When sharing how they wanted to expand their program, show host Jennifer Hudson surprised the duo with a $10,000 award, courtesy of Pampers.
