ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – Artists and deejays are getting ready for the return of a St. Louis tradition. Poinfest has been around for three decades.
“We started in 1993,” said Donny Fandango, Music Director & Midday Host of 105.7 The Point. “We have done one or sometimes two, minus the pandemic year.”
For 32 years, radio station 105.7 The Point has been modern rock music to listeners’ ears.
Three decades into the station’s Pointfest music festival, they’re showing no signs of slowing down.
“For us to continue to succeed as well as have this show be kind of a marker in St. Louis,” Fandango said. “If you grew up here, there’s a chance you’ve been to at least one Pointfest.”
Saturday at Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre, Pointfest makes its return, with music acts and deejays giving music fans a community since 1993.
If the theme of this story is consistent, look no further than South Grand and Steve’s Hot Dog location.
Businessman, entrepreneur and frontman for the band The Urge will take the stage, co-headlining with band 311.
“We’ve done a number of Pointfests and with 311, so it’s a bill similar to what we did in 1997,” said Steve Ewing, musician and businessman.
“In 1995 they came out with Receiving the Gift of Flavor,” Fandango said. “They’ve just been consistent and dug into that.”
Ewing points to active modern rock listeners and a radio station that has made a name for itself.
Consistently pulling musicians and music fans together, building fan bases and Midwest Summer traditions.
