ST. LOUIS — Residents in the St. Louis area are flocking to grocery stores to stock up on essentials as a winter weather forecast predicts sleet, causing concern after recent storms.
Despite the forecast not predicting significant snowfall in the metro area, the possibility of sleet has prompted many to prepare by purchasing staples like milk, bread, and eggs. This rush is reminiscent of the early January storms that left many cautious about being underprepared.
“Pizzas. Anything that’s easy. Easy stuff because you’re at home with your kids and you want to have a nice snow evening,” said Howard Meyer, Store Director at Dierbergs Marketplace.
Many shoppers were seen at the stores yesterday, attempting to avoid the rush anticipated today as people prepare for the potential weather impact.
