ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Police Headquarters is working to track down the suspects behind a bold, daytime carjacking in Tower Grove.
Police say a 52-year-old man, in his maroon Dodge Charger, was held at gunpoint—one of the suspects armed with an assault rifle.
The victim told officers the men demanded he get out of the car, stole his glasses and then drove off in the charger.
A third suspect followed in a silver SUV—later identified as a gray hyundai Santa Fe, which had also been reported stolen out of Cahokia Heights, Illinois.
That charger was later used in another carjacking that same day, adding urgency to the ongoing investigation.
The suspects are believed to be young—possibly 18 to 19 years old—thin build, and between 5’6 and 5’8. All suspects were wearing face masks.
One of the suspects had a distinct bookbag that is white with a graphic that depicts the mouth of a shark.
