ST. LOUIS – Organizers behind the ‘Taste of St. Louis’ festival seek to move the event out of downtown St. Louis to Clayton.

According to St. Louis Magazine, ‘Taste of St. Louis’ festival organizers are seeking to move the event to Clayton in an effort to create more room for the festival and to appease more residents.

“To me, it’s moving the event closer to the population center of the greater St. Louis area,” said Chuck Justus, co-director of the ‘Taste of St. Louis’. “I think it puts it more in a place that’s accessible. Everyone from downtown St. Louis, Richmond Heights, Maryland Heights, you’re right in the middle of all that stuff.”

The ‘Taste of St. Louis’ festival has been held in downtown St. Louis’ Ballpark Village since 2019. After moving to Chesterfield for four years in 2014, the festival returned to downtown St. Louis, claiming it was “where the festival belongs.”

Organizers are targeting August 15-17 as the dates to host the event in Clayton, the magazine says. Organizers seek Clayton’s permission to close Brentwood and South Meramec through the course of the event but hope to maintain access to the businesses and provide a bump in customers.
