TROY, Mo. – The Troy (Missouri) Police Department is asking for the public’s help after someone allegedly threw a homemade firebomb into a vehicle earlier this week, a case authorities described as “a deliberate act of arson.”

Police responded to a vehicle fire around 1 a.m. Monday on Creekwood Boulevard. Investigators later determined that an incendiary device, described as a homemade firebomb, had been thrown into the vehicle.

“This is a VERY disturbing incident that could have resulted in serious injury or death,” said the Troy Police Department via Facebook.

Detectives processed the crime scene and canvassed the area after for additional leads. However, at this time, police have not identified any suspects or established a motive.

Police are asking residents who live near Creekwood Boulevard to check their security cameras and doorbells cameras between midnight and 1:30 a.m. Monday to see if they notice anything or anyone suspicious.
