ST. LOUIS – A 15-year-old is listed in stable condition at a hospital after being shot Tuesday afternoon in south St. Louis.

According to a statement from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the shooting happened around 3 p.m. in the 6400 block of Alabama Avenue, in the city’s Carondelet neighborhood.

The victim told police he was in an alleyway with a friend when a blue Honda Odyssey pulled up in front of them and a passenger in the backseat began shooting at them.

The teen said he ran to the 600 block of Holly Hills Avenue for cover and then realized he’d been shot in the leg.

EMS responded to the scene and took the teen to the hospital. Police are still investigating the shooting.
