ST. LOUIS — A 16-year-old boy was found dead inside his home on Sunday, just four days after he was struck in a hit-and-run crash in north St. Louis.

According to St. Louis Metropolitan Police, the teen was struck by an unknown person in a sedan last Wednesday around 12 p.m. Police found the teen lying in the street with injuries and was disoriented.

The boy was transported to a hospital, where he received treatment for a head injury and broken ribs. Police said the hospital later listed him in stable condition and released him on Saturday.

On Sunday, the 16-year-old was found dead in his home in the 1800 block of N. Sarah after his parents discovered he was deceased and called police. Police said the death is believed to be related to the hit-and-run, but the medical examiner’s office will determine the official cause of death.
