ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department announced that a teen has been taken into custody following a short crime spree throughout south St. Louis.
The 17-year-old is charged with two counts of first-degree robbery (carjacking), three counts of stealing a motor vehicle, four counts of stealing a firearm, and one count of stealing an animal.
The teen’s spree lasted between Jan. 24 and Jan. 25.
On the night of Jan. 24, police were called to two carjackings in the Tower Grove South neighborhood and Benton Park neighborhood.
Also on Jan. 24, vehicle thefts were reported in the 3700 block of Meramec and the 4600 block of Milentz.
The next day, on Jan. 25, a food delivery driver left his car unattended when it was stolen. However, the owner still had the fob, and the vehicle was left behind not far away. Four firearms were stolen out of the vehicle. Additionally, the car owner’s dog was found at a local gas station.
Following the investigation, SLMPD was led to the 17-year-old.
