ST. LOUIS – A 19-year-old is recovering at a hospital after being shot Tuesday afternoon.

According to a spokesperson for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the victim showed up at the hospital around 5:30 p.m. with a gunshot wound to his leg.

Police said the victim was initially vague and made inconsistent statements regarding his injury. The victim eventually officers that he was accosted by a group around 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Sheridan and Glasgow avenues, in the city’s Jeff-Vander-Lou neighborhood.

The victim said someone in the group shot at him after the victim refused to see what they wanted.
