MADISON COUNTY, Ill – An ARCH Air Medical helicopter crashed during a training event last Thursday in Hartford, Illinois, leaving three people injured.
During that time, a spokesperson for the FAA reported that the crash occurred around 9:20 p.m.
The helicopter involved in the crash was an MMB-BK 117, and the event was likely to occur after the helicopter clipped a tree when it was taking off.
A few days after the incident, ARCH Air Medical Service said that two of the three members on the helicopter were discharged from the hospital in a Facebook post today.
The other teammate remains in the hospital, but ARCH Air Medical Service said that they are in stable condition.
“Our focus remains on supporting our teammates through their recovery. Thank you for your continued thoughts and prayers,” the company wrote.
An investigation into the crash remains ongoing, and local authorities and Air Methods are working to determine the cause of the incident.
