ST. LOUIS – Two people are recovering after being shot last week at an illegal car event in north St. Louis.

The shooting occurred just before 9 p.m. on Friday, March 14, at the intersection of West Florissant and Warne avenues in the city’s O’Fallon neighborhood.

Police responded to ShotSpotter activations. A 21-year-old woman who was struck by gunfire at the event was able to flag officers down at Natural Bridge Avenue and Grand Boulevard. The woman had been shot in her hand.

The second victim, a 32-year-old man, was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to his right ankle.

Both victims told police they were attending a slideshow when they were shot.
