ST. LOUIS – A 69-year-old man was injured Wednesday after a group of men invaded his home in north St. Louis.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD), the home invasion occurred around 1 a.m. on the 4800 block of Leduc Street in north St. Louis’ Kingsway East neighborhood.

The incident occurred when the 69-year-old man responded to a knock at his door while he was inside his home. When the man opened the door, police said he observed a man he knows by nickname, along with three other unknown men.

According to police, the unknown group flashed a gun towards the man and forced their way into the man’s home, demanding money from him. When the 69-year-old man told the group that he had no money to give them, the man known by the nickname pistol-whipped him and told him he had two days to get them the money they demanded.

After striking the victim, the unknown group of men would later flee the scene in an older-model vehicle, according to police. The 69-year-old man, who suffered a laceration after getting pistol-whipped, received treatment at his home after the incident.
