ST. LOUIS – A burglary suspect will make his first appearance in St. Louis Circuit Court on Friday morning.

John Arley-Lee Gettings, 36, faces 11 counts for allegedly breaking into homes across south St. Louis over the winter.

According to a pair of probable cause statements from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, Gettings committed these burglaries between Dec. 24, 2024, and Feb. 9, 2025. Gettings was arrested on Feb. 13.

Police said Gettings broke into garages and stole various items or, in at least one instance, a motor vehicle.

Investigators suspect Gettings is tied to additional burglaries.

The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office charged Gettings with five counts of second-degree burglary, two counts of stealing – $750 or more, two counts of stealing (misdemeanor), one count of stealing a motor vehicle, and one count of resisting arrest. Gettings remains jailed without bond pending future court appearances. He has a detention hearing scheduled for Feb. 25 and a preliminary hearing on March 11.
