SOUTH ROXANA, Ill. – Crews battled a major house fire Saturday afternoon in South Roxana, Illinois, which possibly followed an explosion at the home.
No injuries have been reported from the incident at this time, but the fire caused significant damage to the home.
Crews responded near the 400 block of Indiana Avenue around 2 p.m. Saturday. FOX 2 spotted at least four fire trucks and several police officers at the scene offering assistance.
There were unconfirmed reports that the fire may have stemmed from a house explosion, but investigators have not yet determined if that was the case.
It’s unclear how many people were inside the home when it started or what exactly may have caused it.
