ST. LOUIS – More than 100 workers at the St. Louis branch of a global airline catering company are expected to lose their jobs next year.

Gate Gourmet, a subsidiary of the Gate Group company that specializes in providing food and other services to airlines worldwide, has operations based at 8725 Scudder Road in Berkeley, Missouri, near the St. Louis Lambert International Airport.

According to a WARN notice from the State of Missouri’s job website, Gate Gourmet is expected to lay off 102 employees by January 15, 2025.

FOX 2’s news partners at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch report that these positions include food preparers, porters, managers, and chefs. A spokesperson for the company cited these cuts to business conditions.

It’s unclear how much of Gate Gourmet’s St. Louis workforce will be affected by the layoffs.

Gate Group says it employs more than 38,000 people and operates 200 locations across all seven continents. The company is headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland.
