ST. LOUIS — A century ago, anyone living with heart disease was thought to be doomed. That all changed with the creation of the American Heart Association.

The AHA is celebrating 100 years this month – and the milestone is a big one. From the first artificial heart valve to cholesterol-lowering medications to maternal health, the AHA has changed millions of lives – and for the better.
