ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Kaplan Feldman Holocaust Museum received a $125,000 anonymous donation, just a week after losing $130,000 in federal funding.
Museum officials launched an emergency fundraising campaign following the cuts, which were attributed to changes in federal grant allocations by the Trump administration.
The donation will be used to complete the organization’s project, which includes digitizing over 300 interviews with Holocaust survivors who settled in the St. Louis area.
“Our survivor testimonies are not just historical records—they’re living tools for education, empathy and memory,” said Myron Freedman, Executive Director of the Museum. “Thanks to our community, and especially to a remarkable anonymous donor, we can ensure that these voices continue to educate and inspire long into the future.”
The organization said that with its original fundraising goal met, additional gifts will go to operating the museum.
