ST. LOUIS – A man arrested over the weekend for an armed carjacking late last year made his first appearance in court on Monday.

Tywone Calvin, 19, is accused of stealing a 2011 Cadillac Escalade at gunpoint on Dec. 23, 2024, in the Mt. Pleasant neighborhood.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s probable cause statement, Calvin and others drove to the Conoco gas station in the 4300 block of South Broadway. Calvin and another suspect walked up to the victim and pointed guns at them. The victim surrendered their keys and Calvin and the other suspect left in the Escalade.

Calvin was arrested on Saturday, April 19.

The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office charged with first-degree robbery and armed criminal action. Calvin has a pending case in St. Louis County for aggravated fleeing and leaving the scene of an accident.
