ST. LOUIS – A known associate of an accused killer for a St. Louis drug ring was back in federal court Tuesday to continue testimony against the defendant.
Anthony Jordan was indicted in 2015 for gunning down nine people between April 2008 and January 2014.
As Jordan’s trial entered its seventh day, a former associate took the stand for several hours, describing several murders in detail.
The witness also described finding out about the murder of Michael Brooks in June 2013, when he was shot outside of a strip club in Brooklyn, Illinois.
In the courtroom, the former associate described Brooks’ relationship with Jordan and said the three of them spent almost every day together. He said Brooks bought drugs from Jordan and owed Jordan money in May 2012.
The associate also described the murder of Montez Woods in May 2012. The associate said he drove Jordan and Brooks to the scene of the murder. He testified that all three of them were wearing masks and gloves and described the details of the car he drove to drop off Jordan and Brooks. He said Jordan was armed with an AK-47 and Brooks also had a gun. Less than a minute later, the associate heard gunshots from both firearms.
Brooks was killed a year later. The associate said Jordan murdered Anthony Clark the following month. Police said Clark is one of the nine murders between April 2008 and January 2014; investigators said evidence connects to Jordan.
Jordan’s trial is expected to continue into next week
