LINCOLN COUNTY, Mo. – An investigation is underway after an ATV driver died in an overnight crash in Lincoln County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

MSHP reports that a 33-year-old man from Troy, Missouri, died in the collision. It happened around 3 a.m. Wednesday on Highway B East near U.S. Route 61.

According to an MSHP crash report, the ATV driver hit the brakes abruptly, which caused the driver to roll over. Moments later, the driver was struck by a second vehicle and ejected from the ATV.

Investigators say a driver in a 2003 Honda Accord, identified as a 54-year-old man from O’Fallon, Missouri, in the crash report, was also involved in the collision. No injuries were reported for him.

MSHP did not disclose the identity of either driver involved, while additional details about the crash are limited.

MSHP Troop C, which covers much of the St. Louis region, is investigating the crash.
